Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri Dixit is a famous Indian actress, best known for her performances in the film Beta Saajan and Hum Aapke Hain Kun..! The actress began her career as an actress in the late 1980s. The actress became popular for the film Tezaab starring the veteran actor Anil Kooor. In the next film, Dil, Aamir Khan appeared as well. Born into a middle-class family in Mumbai she started learning dance from a very young age. When she was in her early years when she started to act as a child actor, the majority of films that she made were not successful. Eventually she became one the biggest actresses of Indian films. After her wedding, she took a break in her career before re-entering the business. More recently she played an important character in the film Gulaab Gang which was about the challenges faced by women living in India. Dixit was nominated for 15 Filmfare Awards, out of which she took home eight. Padma Shri is the fourth highest civilian honour in India. Her fame is based on her social works as well.
