Amy Lou Adams, full name Amy Lou Adams (born 20 August 1974 in Aviano Italy), American actress. She is known for her naive roles that are charming and likable. Adams was the youngest of seven siblings that grew up as a child in the city of Castle Rock, Colorado. Adams was born when her father worked for the U.S. Military in Italy. In the mid-1990s she began professional dancing and acting at the Boulder Dinner Theatre and the Country Dinner Playhouse in Colorado. In the following year in Minnesota, at a local theatre, she was a cast as a character in a mock film documentary on beauty pageants titled Drop Dead Gorgeous. Then, in Los Angeles, she pursued an acting career after her film debut, in where she played a dizzy but friendly contestant. Her husband was the actor Tony Curtis from June 1951 from September 1962 to June 1951 and the mother of Kelly Curtis and Jamie Lee Curtis. Her film career started in late 1940s after she was hired by MGM. She had been discovered by Norma Shearer. Leigh was a star in a variety of popular films during the decade that followed, including Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho (from the year 1960) as well as Living It Up (1954), starring Martin Lewis.
