The kids were asleep in their cribs while I was strapped in with an infant on my back. Ha! The whole thing started to be clear, but wasn't quite finished. It would take time, money and my favorite shopping to complete the interior of this house. In order to stay within budget, I began by taking my sons to estate sales in search of diamonds. The routine we had for the week was to walk from Thursday through Saturday through garage and estate sales to purchase a mix of old and new pieces and then I would spend on weekdays painting and sanding the driveway. The furniture looked like this... and that's where I found my love for restoration. When our home was fully furnished, I could not quit! I had an area at the market where I sold things. There were numerous pieces that I did not have a clue what to do with them and outgrew the space. I hosted open houses in my home where one thousand people would visit on a single weekend. visitors could buy anything from the ground level. My venture Growing Days began here. Apart from my successful business, I also had the pleasure of growing our family. Finding the balance was important to me. I wished to be both a mom and a successful business owner. Growing Days fit perfectly. The year 2013 was the year my daughter Nora became our fourth daughter. While I was pleased with the direction that my business was taking, I realized that I needed to take a little break. I made the decision to take some break from my antique furniture and slow down to be at home with my children. That was exactly what I needed at that moment. However after a few months off the phone started to ring. People were calling me and seeking help for their interior decorating and home remodeling. The majority of people who contacted me were people who had came to my house at one of the furniture open house events. After that, I gradually took on new clients at my own speed. In the end, I had many clients, and had a business of home renovations. When you first spoke to me about my business in home renovation I laughed. Actually I still kind of smile when I think about it.
